Third world heat is unlike any other. And that’s still not saying much about the side effects it brings: depression, inactivity, and — if you’re not mentally stable enough — insanity. Unfortunately.
And it doesn’t spare anyone, even the players we oh so thought resistant to any kind of torture. For Colegio San Agustin standouts Denden Lazaro and Tasha Faustino, the only way to deal is to keep training and frolicking, in hopes to get their minds off the heat and spring into productivity.
But for us on the sideline, well, we can only thank the heavens for preseason volleyball tourneys to keep us afloat in this perpetual heatwave.
So, YAY!
Shakey’s V-League starts tomorrow, and to kick off its 9th season, first conference title-holders Lady Eagles will go up against the Lady Tamaraws of FEU in the main game at The Arena.
Good luck, ladies, and we wish you well on your campaign to retain your

It’s only been Day 3 of the tourney and our hardworking girls have already copped two wins! Amazeballs! And you know what that means (although initially I didn’t): Destination QUARTERFINALS!
Story HERE!!!

If you’ve been following our girls’ conversation on Twitter (I trust in a less stalker-ish way), you’d know very well that they, too, are major fans of their male counterparts.
After Sunday’s hostility against SWU (which they handily disposed of in three “papawis lang” sets), Mona Bagatsing, Tasha Faustino, Dzi Gervacio, and former libero Steph Gabriel trooped to Alabang to catch a game of Team Unicorns — a team comprised of several AMVT alumni — to show their support. Mona tweets:
RT @Mownana: Off to Ayala to watch Team Unicorns game! Manager duties! #chos
After which, they headed over to a friend’s house to catch the B-Meg / TNT duel on TV.
I never quite understood how the girls were still able to muster enough energy to be in different places in a day. But I guess that’s all in a day’s work for our student-athletes.
